a few case studies
International Inclusion
Diversity and Inclusion can mean many things to many people.
We worked with the U.S. Department of State to design and facilitate a virtual, 13-month “Bridge” experience for 88 delegates from 61 countries, selected by their respective embassies for a Global Moment in Time project on Reflections
in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Accessibility. Each session was created to facilitate and dialogue across personal, cultural, political, and geographic nuances on the challenges and opportunities for an inclusive world.
Diplomatic Dialogues
Public diplomacy plays a critical role in U.S. foreign policy. The interpreters, language officers, and citizen diplomats interface directly with global emerging leaders.
We worked with the U.S. Department of State to design and facilitate workshops to: 1) build facilitation skills; 2) explore cross-cultural negotiation & communication; and 3) build awareness of conflict styles.
Empathic Environmentalists
Environmental advocates face tremendous challenges, not only in how to address climate change, but also to manage their own well-being in the tough and life-dependent work.
We worked with the Natural Resources Defense Council to coach leaders and individual contributors to: 1) develop leadership skills and personal growth; 2) build the bench of emerging leaders; and 3) address equity in policy-setting and systems transformation.
Skillful Scientists
The academic sector and federal government do not lack in technical experts with deep experience. Yet while many hold decades of experience with demonstrated scholarship and research, they are often promoted to senior management levels without management training.
We worked with the National Science Foundation to support its senior directors to: 1) raise awareness of their leadership strengths and areas of growth; and 2) identify opportunities to effectively manage their teams and navigate departmental dynamics.
Complex Collaboration
Automobile manufacturing companies are incredibly complex and matrixed organizations. Each area of the organization must work seamlessly with each other to ensure that cars meet the highest safety standards.
We worked with Audi and Mind Gym to design an interactive online toolkit to: 1) recognize potential hurdles to cross-functional engagement; and 2) practice the key components of effective collaboration.
Artistic Advocates
Storytelling are fundamental to human cognitive, communication, and connection. Stories form the basis of how we understand ourselves and our place in the world. Stories frame how who we are and who we can become.
We worked with Music to Life to coach musician-social change activists to: 1) craft and build their stories of music and activism for justice; and 2) inspire others during broadcasted live events.
